Rebuild Group recently completed a residential insurance claim in Bassendean WA. The property had sustained a significant amount of damage due to a fire, and required a serious amount of repair work. Rebuild Group spent a total of 88 working days to restore the property, utilising 15 contractors to complete the job.
Several obstacles were encountered during the course of the repairs:
- Emergency services had to use copious amounts of water to douse the fire, saturating the property internally.
- Due to inclement weather, the commencement of works had to be delayed.
- Additional works were uncovered during the demolition stage, which required amendment to the original scope of works.
- Due to the seasonality of the project, and water used by the emergency services, the internal wet works would not dry adequately. Rebuild Group recommended the use of drying equipment to expedite the drying process, which was authorised. The property still took 3 weeks for the moisture levels in the walls to reach a suitable level for works to recommence.
Despite these challenges and the extensive damage of the fire, the property has now been fully restored to its original condition. The job was completed 1 week ahead of the projected completion date and completed within budget, thanks to our efficient process and the expertise of our staff and contractors.
